Sigmund Freud skriver til sin venn Wilhelm Fliess i Berlin: (*OBS! Må oversettes): It is of great interest to me that you are so affected by my still negative attitude to your interpretation of left-handedness. I shall try to be objective, for I know how difficult it is.

I had the impression, furthermore, that you considered me to be partially left-handed; if so, you would tell me, since there is nothing in this bit of self-knowledge that might hurt me. It is your doing if you still do not know every intimate detail about me; you have surely known me long enough.

Well, then, I am not aware of any preference for the left hand, either at present or in my childhood; rather I could say that years ago I had two left hands."
